Enrolment Tours
Prior to enrolling your child, we warmly invite prospective families to visit our school, meet our staff, and explore our learning community. Come and see our classrooms in action and learn about our focus on literacy, numeracy, and specialist programs. Please contact the school regarding group and private enrolment tours on 5672 1600.
All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

How to apply for enrolment
Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. Simply click on or scan the QR code below.
If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact our school. Paper enrolment application forms are also available on request.
Enrolment Timelines
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) for 2027 at Wonthaggi Primary School from Monday 20 April 2026 and applications are due by Friday 31 July 2026.
Submit applications between Monday 20 April 2026 and the due date Friday 31 July 2026.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application with a letter of offer between Monday 3rd August and Friday 14th August 2026.
Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education’s Placement Policy.
What is next?
Look out for information coming out to future foundation students regarding our wonderful ‘Step into Prep’ transition program that will run in the last Term of 2026.
Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026. To be advised.
Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Thursday 28 January 2027.

Once enrolment is organised a school enrolment pack will be available which includes information such canteen ordering, uniform ordering and school handbook. You may have already received one at your child’s enrolment tour.
Don’t forget to also be ready to provide us with evidence of your child’s identity and date of birth (for example a copy of your child’s birth or passport). Also, a copy of your child’s immunisation certificate. These documents will help to finalise your child’s enrolment.

Other year level enrolments
We also accept enrolment applications for students in other year levels. You can submit a request at any time in the school year.
Eligible students who live within our school zone are guaranteed a place, while students outside the zone may be enrolled if there are available places.

Our school zone
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Your school zone is determined based on your permanent residential address.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their local school. Students may enrol at another school if there are available places.
